About the Freshmen-to-Freshmen Reception
The Latina Freshman Reception: Empowering College and High School Latinas is a new initiative that will impact retention rates among freshmen both at the college and high school level. This effort is to provide an opportunity for Latina college and high school freshmen to network with faculty, staff and student Latina role models in order to establish community and develop lasting connections.The reception will be held in JCK 11th floor on October 2nd, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 pm. The evening will begin with a dinner and a keynote speaker, followed by a networking session. The goal of this event is to allow Latina freshmen a sense of empowerment and realization that they can determine their own future by discovering their self worth as establishing educational goals.
